1 inch of rain per square foot = 0.623 gallons of water. 1 gallon of water = 1.61 inches of water in a square foot of area. Most spray overhead turf rotor irrigation nozzles deliver 0.2″-0.4″ of water for every 20 minutes the zone runs. Using the figures below, calculate how much water your plants need after they are established. Watering once per week makes the below calculations simple and environmentally sustainable. |
