Dwarf pinyon pine
Pinus edulis
Slow growing selection of native pinon pine forming tight mounds over time. Extremely drought-tolerant adapting well to harsh conditions. Excellent evergreen choice for rock gardens and permanent containers.
Tips from the pros: Should be used in place of the common non-native mugo pines, as they will seldom outgrow their planting site as mugos commonly do. Avoid overwatering once the plant is established.
