This astonishing perennial recently introduced from the Caucasus consists of a basal tuft of dark green, linear leaves which produce spikes of feathery, russet-red flowers in spring. This adaptable plant resembles a reddish, spring-blooming liatris with vibrant designer color. Please note species correction from original promotions. (Note: the taxonomy of this plant is currently in question, but for now we'll use the identification as originally received from the collector.) Read more here.

Tips from the pros: Reseeds readily so deadhead spent flowers when finished blooming. Will re-bloom again in summer if deadheaded. Prefers drip irrigation.
